The Kalthoff sculptor’s axe combines exceptional quality and craftsmanship, developed in collaboration with renowned woodcarver Beth Moen. This axe is perfect for removing large amounts of material as well as for precise work on fine cutting surfaces. Featuring a 550 g axe head, the sculptor’s axe offers effortless handling and outstanding balance right below the axe head. This thoughtful design ensures that every gram is optimally utilized, making the hatchet feel more substantial and powerful when extra force is required. The cutting edge is immediately ready for use and remains sharp for a long time. With a hardness of 57 HRC, the blade offers excellent edge retention while still being easy to resharpen. The chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel used is manufactured in Smedjebacken, Sweden, a steelworks renowned for its exceptional quality. The ash wood handle is carefully handcrafted and treated with raw linseed oil. The included leather sheath is made of vegetable-tanned leather, providing long-lasting protection for the blade.
