The blade, forged from fine-grained White Paper Steel (ZW-C1 Mono Steel), is characterised by an extremely sharp and durable edge and high impact resistance - ideal for precise woodworking and exact joints. The seamless transition between blade and handle, along with the finger groove, ensures a secure grip. The characteristic steel blueing protects the blade from corrosion. Ready for use with the back honed exactly to 0.02 mm. Hardness approx. 64 HRC.Can be sharpened very well on our Japanese waterstones.
Zen-Wu White Paper Steel (ZW-C1 mono steel)
ZW-C1 is a pure carbon steel without alloying additives. Its high impact toughness is achieved through the uniform distribution of carbon atoms. The steel undergoes a controlled heat treatment in numerous steps, including two stages of cryogenic treatment.
