The »Luxurious« differs from the »Merendeira« (No. 718958) by an even finer finish and the rustproof, PVD coated 1.4116 steel blade. The handle is made of ebony and boxwood. This successful combination and the Virobloc system make this folding knife something very special. A metal eyelet with leather strap has been incorporated at the end of the handle. Hardness 58 HRC.
PVD coating
The abbreviation PVD stands for physical vapour deposition. Knife blades coated with the PVD technique are given an additional surface coating. The respective material is brought into a gaseous state and applied to the knife blade, where the material condenses and forms an additional layer. PVD coatings improve the hardness of the blade. Coated blades do not wear out as quickly as uncoated blades. The chemical coating protects the blade surface against corrosive and chemical attacks.
