Razors

The fine art of wet shaving - The first straight razor blades were wedgeshaped, rather like kitchen knives. This is called a flat grind. Over time, the idea of a blade with a hollow grind developed. This hollow grind makes the blade easier to hone and allows an extremely fine cutting edge. The thinner the cutting edge, the better the shave, because the blade edge can adjust better to the skin contours, which is why 1/2 hollow and other types of hollow grind developed. Another revolution was the full hollow.
