Filson 3-Layer Field Jacket

The Filson 3-Layer Field Jacket is ideally suited to the avid upland hunter. For fully waterproof protection, a traditional solution for hunters has been to rely on high-performance mountaineering clothing. That gear, however, often does not stand up to the thick sagebrush, bulrush and briars encountered in the pursuit of wild game up a mountainside. To offer waterproof protection that meets these requirements, Filson created a high-performance, waterproof, yet breathable fabric tough enough to withstand the punishing abuse of busting through heavy brush all day. This exceptional fabric consists of a rugged nylon shell with a waterproof, breathable membrane laminated to it. The third layer is a tricot backing, which protects the membrane, adds warmth and helps vapours to dissipate and escape to the outside, keeping you dry from sweat buildup. To ensure complete protection, it’s fully seam-sealed and employs YKK AquaGuard zippers at the front closure and ventilating pit-zips.Designed and field-tested by hunters, the Filson 3-Layer Field Jacket is as full of features as they come. The front shell pockets are snap- and gusset-expandable, easily hold a box of 12-gauge cartridges each, and they are easy to open and close even gloved. Pocket-bottom grommets allow water drainage if needed. Behind the shell pockets are side-entry hand pockets, which provide additional storage space. Entry to the chest pockets is from the centre, so they are easy to access when wearing a backpack. On the inside is a zippered security pocket for valuables such as your hunting license, keys or phone. The back features a zippered game bag. The two handy fabric loops on the chest pockets are ideal for attaching transmitters, dog whistles or calls.The two-way drawcord-adjustable hood and adjustable hook-and-loop cuffs seal out the elements with a custom fit.The Filson 3-Layer Field Jacket can be combined with the separate Filson Wool Vest Liner (No. 818024) for even more warmth and versatility.
