Buffalo leather belongs to the open, coarse-pored aniline leather types and is therefore robust and durable. Unlike normal cowhide, buffalo leather has distinctively coarser pores and is characterised by a typical grain structure in which the hair channels are clearly visible. Buffalo leather fades over time, giving it its typical character. Visually, it is characterised by its open-pored, natural structure, which is due to the fact that the leather is made from the top layer of skin and sanded on the grain side, which can have a wide variety of injuries such as healed scars, insect bites, bald or thickened areas, etc. The latter give buffalo skin its rustic, natural appearance, which is particularly appreciated by real leather lovers, as is the pleasant, soft and warm feel. In addition, the leather is very robust and resistant and is therefore suitable for the production of heavily used everyday items such as bags, purses, belts, shoes, knife sheaths and seating furniture.
