Each plane is set up by the master craftsman himself and ready for immediate use.The Sun-Roku is a traditional Japanese smoothing plane, renowned for its versatility and widespread use throughout history. By tradition, its plane blades have a precisely defined width of 1.6 shaku (65 mm).The plane body, designed in the classic Japanese style, is crafted of stabilised Japanese white oak. The wood is resin-infused, ensuring it is sustainably stabilized. This meticulous process keeps the sole exceptionally flat and the body highly resistant to warping.The plane blade is a true masterpiece, distinguished by its exquisite craftsmanship and individual, artistic texture. It consists of a solid brass body (8 mm) and is laminated with Magnacut steel. The combination of these two materials ensures vibration-free operation, the finest shavings and an excellent surface finish. Brass absorbs vibrations very effectively due to its high density. Magnacut steel offers outstanding edge retention and significantly reduces micro nicks at the cutting edge.This premium Sun-Roku plane is delivered vacuum-sealed for safe transport and is ready for immediate use.
