Mountain hunting not only places particularly high demands on the hunter's physical fitness and shooting skills, but also allows no compromises when it comes to the choice of equipment. The "Säntis Lady" jacket was developed especially for the needs of this hunt on the basis of the classic Heinz Bauer "Beaver Creek" hunting jacket. It is made from the best, breathable loden fabric (580 g/m), which is so carefully milled that the jacket is almost waterproof and windproof. This traditional material is absolutely noiseless and offers an optimal body climate at any time of year thanks to excellent moisture transport and breathability. The width of the jacket can be individually adjusted using a drawstring. The side ventilation slits with zip and the inner mesh lining ensure increased comfort and ventilation on long hikes or steep climbs. The practical cartridge pocket on the left sleeve allows for quick reloading. Functional pockets offer space for all important items such as a map, gloves and anything else you want to have to hand. The model also has two lined slash pockets to protect against wind and weather and a hood integrated into the collar. Other details such as the practical zip pocket under the central button placket, two inside pockets, two additional inside pockets for pens and the leather buttons with a discreet embossed logo skilfully underline the attention to detail. The quilted leather trims on the shoulders and sleeves offer protection against wear and increased comfort when carrying a rucksack or rifle. The trims are made from tear-resistant, waterproof membrane-laminated kangaroo leather. Kangaroo leather has almost twice the tensile strength of cowhide and absorbs only half as much water, making it ideal for heavy-duty use. However, kangaroo leather is not only impressive in terms of functionality, it is also ideal for demanding mountain hunting in terms of weight - it is significantly thinner and lighter than cowhide with the same stability. Kangaroo leather retains its strength where other types of leather require heavy scraping and splitting of the leather, which considerably reduces the physical performance of the leather. The unique properties of kangaroo leather are further optimised through the tanning process, resulting in a strong, lightweight and natural high performance material. Kangaroos are not bred in Australia, but are hunted due to their high population and a reduction in predators. The first-class workmanship and high-quality materials make the "Säntis Lady" jacket the epitome of a "hunting jacket for mountain hunting" - just that little bit more perfect, comfortable and luxurious.For additional comfort and warmth, an optional lining is available, which can be attached to the jacket using the zips already incorporated. It is available as a practical quilted lining or as a fur lining on request. The jacket is a regular fit. If you want to wear the jacket mainly with the optional lining, we recommend ordering the jacket and lining one size larger. This will ensure better manoeuvrability when hunting.
