This exquisite kitchen utensil can be used as a baking, pasta, or cutting board, as well as a serving platter.
We handcraft this baking board in a traditional manner from fine domestic cherry and walnut wood.
The end-grain edges of the cherry wood board are covered by two stability strips executed in a tongue-and-groove joint, ensuring that the open pores of the end grain do not absorb moisture or become dirty. At the same time, they prevent the board from warping without restricting its freedom of movement (different shrinkage and swelling of the wood in different directions of the fibres). This form-fitting joint is not glued to ensure the independent movement of the wood.
The stop strip and the back strip are made with tongue-and-groove joints, form-fitting and without glue. They ensure a secure stand on the kitchen counter, allowing for safe, non-slip operation.
Artisanal quality, as known from the past - functional and elegant, durable and extremely robust.
If you wish, you can treat the baking board, for example, with food-safe camellia oil (No. 705281), which penetrates well into the wood pores and does not remain on the surface, to provide a surface treatment that accentuates the natural colour of the wood and additionally protects it.
