»Dante« Men's Waxed Vest

The lightweight men's quilted vest »Dante« is made of English dry wax cotton in a workshop in northern Italy. The origin of waxed fabrics dates back centuries, when Scottish and English sailors coated their sails with fish oils to make them more efficient when dry and lighter when wet. From these beginnings, clothing was developed that kept the sailors and fishermen themselves dry. Towards the end of the 19th century, Halley Stevensons in Scotland and British Millerain in Halifax patented waxed, rainproof fabrics that were used in military bags, cases, and eventually in protective outerwear. Dry Wax is an emulsified wax finish that provides water-repellency like traditional wax but does not have a waxy feel. The Dry Wax outer fabric creases naturally and develops its own distinctive character over time.Finely accentuated piping in a suede look underlines the vest’s quality workmanship. The comfortable cut and the light weight offer sufficient freedom of movement and high wearing comfort. Two zippered pockets on the outside and two more zippered pockets on the inside provide space for the most important everyday essentials. The light padding provides additional protection against the cold. The vest impresses with its light weight and pleasant warmth. The practical two-way zip, a storm flap on the collar, and the quilted lining with orange piping skilfully complete the sporty design. The vest offers excellent freedom of movement as well as warmth and comfort.
