Bridge City HP-14 Scraper Plane

The scraper plane is a real head-turner. The »skeletonised« design impressively draws attention to the details inside the body of the plane. At the right angle, the highly polished handle provides a perfect ergonomic grip. HP-14 is a scraper plane that is specially designed for trimming and smoothing wood surfaces with difficult grain patterns. At a steep angle, the blade removes a small amount of material, resulting in a particularly smooth finish without tearing out the grain. The wide range of angle adjustment between 88° and 117° allows scraping on different types of wood with differing hardness and roughness. Once the scraping angle is set, the micro-adjustment feature allows the scraping depth to be increased by 0.04 - 0.01 mm by turning the orange locking wheel anti-clockwise in small increments of ⅓ turn. The play-free bearings of the blade angle adjustment mechanism ensure precise and vibration-free guidance of the scraper, the blade thickness of 2.4 mm offers excellent stability during scraping. The primary bevel angle of the blade is honed to 45°. The precise flatness of the plane sole ensures excellent surface results. All components are made of stainless steel (sole) and precision-cast or CNC-machined and anodised solid aluminium. Plane blades of A2 steel, hardened to 58-62 HRC.
